The brothers Isaac Wolfe and Bernhard Bernheim started their liquor sales firm in Paducah, Kentucky in 1872. They later established the historic Bernheim Distillery in Louisville. In 1879, the Bernheim Brothers created the I.W. Harper brand. The brothers’ whiskey went on to win Gold Medals at the New Orleans Exhibition in 1885 and the Chicago World’s Fair in 1893. I.W. Harper Gold Medal 86 Proof is a vintage premium bourbon, produced in the 1970s and exported for the Japanese market. The bottle comes with its original box, which has seen some wear and tear since this bottle came out half a century ago.
