Pierre Labet Beaune Blanc Clos Du Dessus Des Marconnets 2015
Firm and taut, with a layer of tannins shoring up the cherry and blackberry fruit. Earth and spice accents enter as this builds to a long finish. Classy overall, yet showing some muscle. This has red berry up front, but the warm spices that run from mid-palate to the finish leave the biggest impression.
This elegant 100% Chardonnay was Brigitte’s contribution. Subtle fruit, refined, honey notes with fine minerality and crisp acidity. Bone dry, with aromas of stone fruit, lemon, hazelnut, and just a bit of vanilla.
